Residency Certificate is Back!

So today I went out to my mailbox and there it is my US residency certificate. Finally! It has taken forever to receive this document. As I covered in my Vlog US RESIDENCY CERTIFICATE WOES I talked about the weird issues I had during this process. Needless to say I am very much relieved that it has finally arrived. Here is what the two pages look like:

It seems silly that a simple document costs you $85.00. However, it is so worth it that we can avoid double taxation while it South Korea. I went into detail about the process of acquiring the US Residency Certificate in my previous post which you can see (here). Today has been a great day in terms of feeling as though I am moving forward in the EPIK process and my life. With the email from my coordinator, workouts, plans, and acquiring this document I am feeling good about things lately. Now my biggest hope is that I will get an NOA. I am feeling good about getting one since of course I passed my interview and I got all my documents in super quick. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

If you have any questions about the process or anything feel free to reply or send me a message! Thanks loves!

Documents 2nd Screening

April 15, 2013

I got an email from my EPIK Coordinator who screened my documents I sent in after my interview. He told me that everything looks good! So now all I have to do is wait until Mid-June-July to find out if I get an NOA from hopefully SMOE (1st choice location). I am just relieved to know that everything with my documents was okay and nothing has to be done on my end for now. All I can do is sit back and relax until the time comes for me to be all anxious/nervous in June lol. Now back to watching Coffee Prince.

EPIK Documents Sent to South Korea

April 8, 2013

Its official! All of my documents have been submitted to UPS to make their way to the EPIK Office in South Korea. The only issue I had was with the UPS clerk’s attitude when I requested a UPS envelope. lol I was like please? I know you can use USPS envelopes through there with the UPS label, but I wanted it to be blatantly obvious that it was UPS! The clerk’s co-worker even agreed with me since it was going overseas so I just insisted until he finally put the UPS sleeve onto my documents. I was thinking in my head “COME ONE LOL JUST DO IT!”  What happened to customer service? Geez grumpy gills. ANYWHO sending my documents over was not cheap so I recommend saving up. My documents in an express mail envelope costs $89.00 to ship from Pennsylvania. My documents should arrive at the EPIK Office by Thursday. Since I used UPS I have the tracking service and I gave my tracking number to my EPIK Coordinator too. I feel so relieved now that it is sent off.

More Good News!

went out to check the mail today and I discovered that I had FINALLY received my FBI Criminal Record Check with the Apostille.

(Photo credit to Kimchi Teaching since my camera battery died) lol

The biggest hurdle in my document collection process has finally been completed. My FBI CRC will be good until August 21, 2013. This will be perfect for my visa application should I be chosen. My interview date is of course April 1st (KST) at 9:20 AM however, for Pittsburgh, PA the date and time is March 31st at 8:20 PM. So don’t forget there is a time difference so you must calculate the time so you don’t miss your interview slot. I am just very excited and happy with how things are going right now. It is so nice to see all the hard work start to pay off. When going through this process you just need to realize there will be doubts, struggles, but there will also be success and happiness. So don’t give up if this is something you are interested in!

FBI CRC Apostille Update

March 13, 2013

Called to check the status of my apostille for my FBI check and apparently it was put in the mail Monday so I should receive it today or tomorrow! Woohoo! By the way for those of you from the USA who want to check the status of yours you can do so by calling (202)-663-1848. Choose to speak to a representative and then they will tell you where your application process is at. However keep in mind that it typically takes 10 business days from the time they actually receive it to process it. Yet, they actually finished mine about six days from the time they actually received it since I counted it out in my planner. Pretty quick for the government lol. For further information you can check out their website-> (here)

NOTE** I know in my past posts I have said that I look for when my payments go through so I can guess when they will send it back. However, getting the apostille for the FBI CRC is apparently the exception. They actually gave it the apostille, put it in the mail, and they still haven’t processed my check yet. The Rep said they tend to just wait and do it after. Just a little heads up.

Envelope Question

Question. When you mailed your CRC to DC what kind of envelope did you put in for the ‘self addressees and prepaid’ envelope? A regular letter size one or one of the like 9×11 document mailers? It wasn’t very specific on the website.

I actually bought the priority mail ones from the post office. I wanted the tracking number so I could look it up and see when it arrived. You could do it any way you’d like though that’s just what I did.I chose the 9 x 11 ones so it wasn’t all crinkled.

FBI CRC Process Question

Question: So how long was it between noticing that they had taken the money for it and you receiving it? I’m hoping that mine shows up while I’m home on break…
